Alisha Thorpe’s journey began long before her rise on social media. In the heart of Spanish Town, Jamaica, lived a young woman with a vision, to become a global creative, build a life of purpose, and use her voice to create meaningful change.

At the core of Alisha’s story is a unique balance between the creative and the pragmatic mind. She is a dreamer with the discipline to build, and an entrepreneur who understands that meaningful change requires both imagination and action. She has never been afraid to envision what does not yet exist and, more importantly, to bring those visions to life.

That philosophy led her to establish My Model University (MU), Jamaica’s first model university, founded on the belief that talent alone is not enough. MU exists to bridge the gap between knowledge and passion, providing aspiring models with the education, community and professional development necessary to become professional models. Through its holistic approach to learning, MU creates a supportive and industry-conscious environment where talent can grow with confidence, purpose, and professionalism.

Her commitment to expanding access within Jamaica’s creative economy led to the founding of the Jamaica Creative Access Fund (J-CAF), an initiative designed to connect Jamaican creatives with opportunities that can move their ambitions forward. Through training, mentorship, employment opportunities, and funding, J-CAF seeks to make the creative industries more accessible, equitable, and sustainable for the people who shape Jamaica’s culture.

Alisha’s work is a testament to what is possible when vision is matched with conviction. She continues to challenge the notion that age should determine the scale of one’s ambitions, demonstrating that greatness does not require permission, it requires courage, discipline, and the willingness to begin.
