  • A woman should trust her intuition and lead with her EQ- that's our superpower.

Oftentimes, the world labels us as sensitive and emotional—as if it's a bad thing. But in truth, we are grounded beings. Lead with empathy, trust your intuition, form genuine connections, and take bold risks.

ADVOCACY

Alisha Thorpe has been a passionate advocate for mental health since her days at The Queen’s School, where she partnered with Safe Spot JA, a mental health hotline for children and teens. Supporting others has always come naturally to her—whether offering a listening ear, cheering someone on, or standing up for what’s right. During high school, she served as form captain for three consecutive years, vice president of the Media Club, peer counsellor, president of the Girl’s Guide, and even assisted the Dean of Discipline with administrative tasks.

But despite what her resumé might suggest, Alisha wasn’t the textbook-perfect teen. Growing up in Spanish Town, she often struggled to find her place and made the bold decision to pursue an untraditional path. While she remains private about parts of her upbringing, her resilience and warrior spirit have always pushed her forward.

Alisha has never stopped giving back. She’s donated exotic fruits to two local preschools, aiming to expose children to the joy and importance of healthy living. She’s also used storytelling as a tool for impact—reading to children about imagination, wellness, and space through Read Write Now by Uncle Dan, and participating in Read Across Jamaica Day in 2023 with Joel Nomdarkham at St. George’s Girls’ Primary and Infant School.

Today, Alisha is the visionary behind My Model University, where she is on a mission to spread awareness of creative careers and help develop them into sustainable futures. She’s committed to growing Jamaica’s creative industry by attracting investment, building trust funds, and launching initiatives that uplift and empower local talent.

Her belief is simple but powerful: Jamaica can transform its society and economy by investing in its own people.
